10月8日，投行摩根士丹利(MORGANSTANLEY，即“大摩”)發表公告，宣布將以現金加股票方式的收購美國老牌資產管理公司EATONVANCE，交易作價近70億美元，預計將于明年第2季度完成。屆時，大摩投資管理將以1.2萬億美元的資產管理規模順利晉升為“資管萬億美元俱樂部”成員。縱觀近幾年全球資管界的收購合并案例，包括最近的FRANKLINTEMPLETON收購LEGGMASON，前兩年的AMUNDI與PIONEER合并，以及正在探討中的INVESCO與JANUSHENDERSON合并等等，交易雙方的出發點或有細節上的不同，但方向卻大都一致，那就是希望通過與對方的合作來解決一個或多個特定問題，比如節省成本、產品互補，或者實現規模競爭等。那么，在今次的收購中，大摩又是看中了EATONVANCE哪點呢？
